We welcome your membership at Temple Israel of the City of New York. We are a family of families and a warm, nurturing and welcoming community on New York’s Upper East Side.
Enrollment in our Early Childhood Learning Center, our Religious School, and Sanctuary seating for the High Holy Days, because of limited space, are reserved for members in good standing of the congregation. In order to make membership accessible for everyone who wishes to become a part of our community, Temple Israel offers a variety of membership categories.
Basic Family Membership – this membership category entitles families to attend High Holy Day Services in the Sanctuary or seats for you and your children (third grade to age 24) in the Ballroom. Seats for younger children (grades 3 and up) are issued without charge upon request for the Ballroom service.
Supporting Memberships include two High Holy Day tickets in the designated section of the main floor.
Annual Dues Categories:**
Membership dues cover only a fraction of our annual operating costs. Temple Israel prides itself on providing an outstanding religious community for its membership. This building fee is used to support the activities and programs of Temple Israel that are crucial to our mission, but are not self-sustaining financially. Every family is asked to make this pledge when they become a part of Temple Israel. Installment payments, if needed, can be arranged with the administrative offices.
** Single memberships, junior and student memberships, handicap-accessible reserved seating, and special dues considerations will always be made to accommodate those who wish to become a part of the Temple Israel community. Please do not hesitate to call us.
