Temple Israel encourages the active involvement of every member of the congregation. Numerous opportunities exist which take advantage of the many different skills and talents of our members.
Building Committee
Oversees the operation and upkeep of the Temple building; insures that preventive maintenance programs are in effect for essential operating systems; proposes and reviews plans and bids for major renovations; advises Temple administration on major building repairs.
Cemetery Committee
Determines and implements cemetery policy; oversees cemetery operations and finances; sets costs for purchase of plots, mausoleums, endowed and annual care, seasonal plantings and other cemetery services; coordinates marketing efforts for cemetery.
Development Committee
ECC Committee
Works directly with the senior rabbi, nursery school director and parents to provide support and leadership to the school.
Finance Committee
Proposes and implements the Temple's fiscal policy under the direction and oversight of the Executive Committee and the Board of Trustees.
Gala Committee
Directs annual Temple Gala.
Investment Committee
Oversees all Temple investments; reviews investment performance and makes investment recommendations to the board; implements board's investment policies.
Israel Connections Committee
The Israel Connections Committee is a vehicle for our community to connect and commit to increasing our awareness, concern, and love for Israel. The Israel Connections Committee participates in a wide range of programming at the Temple, both educational and cultural. Some of our activities include Shabbat evening lectures, attending the AIPAC policy conference, and engaging Israeli artists, teachers, and dignitaries to come to our community. Legal Committee
Membership Committee
Recommends policy for the recruitment and retention of members; in conjunction with the Board of Trustees, sets and monitors the costs of membership dues and dues payment policies; with the senior rabbi and Executive Director, reviews membership policies and recommends changes to the Board of trustees when appropriate.
Religious School Committee
Works directly with the senior rabbi, religious school director and parents to provide support and leadership to the school.
Social Action Committee
With the senior rabbi, sets and implements agenda for Temple's involvement in community-wide social-action concerns.
